• Newcomer Summer School Program 2021

    EL Summer School will provide 400 SJUSD EL students in HS the opportunity to recover credits lost due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Students will also learn to navigate technology platforms, acquire English and improve academic success. The program will have bilingual staff member to support student, staff and parents. The program will consist of two cohorts. Each cohort will consist of five days a week for three weeks. This will provide students with the opportunity to earn 10 credits during one of the two cohorts. The program will use APEX which will allow students to take any courses needed to meet graduation requirements. Students will be eligible for this program by EL classification, learning loss (D/F students), couselor or teacher recommendations. The program will be in-person. 

     

     Cohort 1:  June 14 – July 2, 2021

    8:00 am – 2:00 pm Monday - Friday

     

    Session 2:  July 6 - July 23, 2021

    8:00 am – 2:00 pm Monday - Friday
