  • Will face coverings be required of students, staff and/or guests on campus?

    Posted by: 7/9/20 - U: 11/2/20

Yes. At this time, a state executive order and guidance from the California Department of Public Health requires the use of face coverings in all public facilities. This includes all schools whether they be traditional public schools, charter schools or private schools.

Face coverings must be worn at all times while on school grounds both inside and outside of buildings.

In alignment with California Deparment of Public Health guidance, the face covering order does not apply to those age two and under. Students in grades two and lower are highly encouraged but not required to wear face coverings. Students in grades three and above as well as all adults are required to wear face coverings.

Those with certain medical conditions as well as those who are hearing impaired or communicating with a person who is hearing impaired where the ability to see the mouth is essential for communication are exempt. If state requirements or guidance change the district will update this guidance.

    Posted by: 7/9/20

Staff will work to encourage and remind students about the importance of keeping their face coverings in place and not touching their faces throughout the day along with routine reminders to wash hands and follow other best practices. Students who remove their face coverings will be reminded to put it back on.

  • Will schools provide face coverings?

    Posted by: 7/9/20

Families are encouraged to provide their own reusable face coverings that can be laundered and used fresh each day on campus. Students who do not have a face covering when arriving on campus will be provided with a disposable face covering. A supply of washable face coverings is being made available to all employees.

  • If a teacher or staff member is confirmed to be infected with COVID-19 what will happen?

    Posted by: 7/9/20

Should the district become aware of a confirmed case of COVID-19, the campus or applicable parts of a campus will be closed to allow for a thorough deep cleaning. We will work with local health officials to determine the extent of any needed quarantines and if an extended closure or shift to distance learning on that campus is necessary based on the specific facts of the case.
