    Interested in becoming a Clinical Medical Assistant?   


    The Spring 2023 Clinical Medical Assisting / Medical Terminology and Work Skills Program session is scheduled for February 13, 2023 - June 15, 2023


    Registration for the combined Clinical Medical Assisting and Medical Terminology class is determined upon space available and the passing of a CASAS placement assessment. 


    To be assessed during the Mandatory Orientation:

    • English fluency as determined by a CASAS reading score of 230 or better. (Students scoring below the required level will be referred to ESL (English as a Second Language) classes.)  


    Anyone 18 years and older interested in this program will be required to attend a Mandatory Orientation on January 18, 2023 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm in the Multi-Purpose Room at the Sunrise Tech Center at 7322 Sunrise Blvd, Citrus Heights, CA  95610.  Free parking is available in the back parking lot off of Oak Avenue.  


    Spaces are limited due to the high demand of this program!  It is recommended that you RSVP on the link below to save your place in the orientation session. *Your name must be entered as it appears on your government issued photo ID.  Bring photo ID to orientation. *No children will be permitted in the orientation/testing session.

    *Arrive early and promptly, no admittance after 10:00 am.

    At the Mandatory Orientation, be prepared to show proof of a high school (or college) diploma, (if from outside the United States, the diploma or GED must be translated into English). 



    Earn your Clinical Medical Assistant Certificate in just 16 weeks for only $890.00 (not including textbooks) 

     The Clinical Medical Assistant Certificate Program is a concurrent two-part program providing students with the technical vocabulary and anatomy knowledge and the practical clinical experience necessary for successful entry-level employment as clinical medical assistants.

    Students will receive step-by-step industry-standard clinical/ back-office training. Part 1, Introduction to Medical Terminology and Work Skills, covers medical terminology and anatomy and includes insurance coding and billing, customer service, scheduling of appointments, and medical office computer training. Part 2, Clinical Medical Assisting, provides practical hands-on clinical experience by teaching patient interview skills, patient positioning, vitals, blood pressure, injections, ECG, CPR and more.  

    Students successfully completing both parts earn a Certificate of Completion and optional externship placement for students who qualify. Students are offered the opportunity to take the National Healthcare Association (NHA) exam to qualify as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA).

    Take the two parts together and complete your CMA training in as little as 16 weeks! 


    • Proof of a high school (or college) diploma (if from outside the United States, the diploma or GED must be translated into English).  Provide at Orientation.  
    • Written proof of a current TB test within two (2) weeks of the class start date.
    • Scrubs (solid top and matching bottoms, any color) worn with closed-toed/heeled shoes are required within two (2) weeks of the class start date. 
    • Basic computer skills, including the ability to create, save, and email a document.
    • Minimum typing speed of 25 wpm.

    Tuition: $2,500.00  NOW $890.00 paid using credit or debit card only  (does NOT include textbooks, scrubs, CPR certification or NHA test fee)

    A payment plan is available.  Once you have received enrollment confirmation, please visit the Sunrise Tech Center Adult Ed office to set up a payment plan and register for the class.  You are not considered enrolled until payment is received. 

    For the payment plan, half of the tuition is due at registration using a credit or debit card only.  The remainder of the tuition is due in monthly installments until paid in full.
