State Health Order Requirements for Employees
In August, state officials issued a health order which requires all individuals providing services to California schools to show proof of vaccination against COVID-19 or participate in weekly COVID-19 testing. All employees of San Juan Unified School District are subject to the requirements of this health order regardless of whether they work at a school site or a central department, or whether they are full-time, part-time, permanent assignment, or temporary assignment.
Before Oct. 8, all employees must verify their vaccination status. Employees can do so by using their district login credentials to access the COVID-19 Vaccination Verification System via the tile found in https://portal.sanjuan.edu. Click the “Verify Vaccination Status” option from the main menu. The system is accessible while at work or at home, and on any device including a smartphone or tablet. (Taking pictures of documents with a mobile device may be easier than scanning them in.)
Employees who are fully vaccinated, have met the requirements of the health order once you submit your vaccination verification and receive a confirmation email. You are not required to participate in weekly COVID-19 testing but are encouraged to test every other week to screen for asymptomatic infections.
Employees who are not fully vaccinated, or if they fail to verify their vaccination status by Oct. 8, will be required to test for COVID-19 on a weekly basis. Testing will be made available at no charge. Testing locations may include school or work sites, district testing sites, health care providers, or private providers. Each week, those required to test will need to return to the COVID-19 Vaccination Verification System found in https://portal.sanjuan.edu to verify their result.
