Rigor - Churchill is committed to creating and maintaining an academic environment that develops the capacity of ALL students.
IB: ALL students will be exposed to content that is complex, ambiguous, provocative and personally or emotionally challenging.
SJUSD SP #1: Implementing effective instructional strategies and utilizing assessment data to engage students to increase achievement on state standards, and 21st century skills.
Relationships - Churchill is committed to creating and maintaining a positive and welcoming environment for all students, staff, parents and community members.
IB: We expect ALL students to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
SJUSD SP #2: Expand human, community, and financial resources and ensure they are used most effectively to achieve our mission and objectives.
SJUSD SP #3: Ensure effective two-way communication that is honest, transparent, and timely to build trusting relationships and create a unified collaborative learning community.
SJUSD SP #6: Identify, model, and integrate positive character traits, as well as develop means for assessments, to help our students become contributing, responsible, and caring members of a diverse community.

Relevancy - Churchill is committed to creating and maintaining an academic program that is timely and relevant.
IB: Our goal is to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
SJUSD SP #4: Design and implement a system that creates challenging personal educational plans at each grade level in collaboration with students, family and staff.
SJUSD SP #5: Integrate relevant technology into teaching, learning and system operations.
