Levels of Instruction
Grade level - This level includes curriculum from grade-level text resources. Teaching strategies and methodology are tailored to help students meet and exceed grade level standards.HA (High Achiever) Level - This level includes greater depth and breadth of the concepts, differentiates the lessons to accommodate individual strengths, prepares students for more advanced science courses, and the emphasis is on quality and success, not quantity.Science Philosophy and EmphasisHands-on labs and activitiesExperimentsDemonstrationsProjectsFriendly competitionsScience process skillsTechnologyCritical ThinkingScience OlympiadInvestigationsSchool-wide science eventsCooperationGRADE 7 - FOCUS ON LIFE SCIENCE:
Seventh Grade life science is designed so all students receive academic preparation to meet and/or exceed California State Standards. Standards of life science study include: cell structure and function, adaptation, structure and function in living systems, physical principles in living systems, genetics, earth and life history.

Eighth grade science students will emphasize Physical Science topics. The primary focus will be on Physics and Chemistry. All curriculum will be based on the California Science Content Standards which include: motion, forces, structure of matter, Earth in the solar system, reactions, chemistry of living systems, periodic table, and density and buoyancy.
