State Preschool

  • The San Juan Unified School District's State Preschool program is created to provide a safe, caring, and educational place for your child.

    The ongoing quality of the program is guaranteed by the excellent cooperation of committed parents and dedicated staff. We value your participation in parent advisory committees, parent meetings, parent conferences, and general support. We are pleased to have an excellent staff who cares about your child and who works to provide a diversified and creative curriculum.

    In order to be eligible for a State Preschool Program, children: 

    1) Must have their 3rd birthday on or before September 1st for the upcoming school year. 

    2) Must be income eligible.

    State Preschool Program Schedule

    The preschool programs are open Monday through Friday for 3 hour sessions. Depending on the site, there are morning and afternoon options. Programs are closed on holidays determined by the District and legal holidays which are:

    • Martin Luther King Day 
    • President's Week 
    • Spring Break 
    • Memorial Day 
    • Independence Day 
    • Labor Day 
    • Veteran's Day 
    • Thanksgiving Break 
    • Winter Break
    • State Preschool follows the same calendar as the San Juan Unified School District elementary school. Please refer to the School Year Schedule for specific closure dates.
