Student Review and Interventions

  • Welcome to Student Review and Interventions.

The Student Review and Interventions Office is responsible for the District’s Expulsion Due Process procedures. Under the California Education Code, schools have the authority and responsibility to recommend, to the Board of Education, that a pupil be expelled from the school district, for a prescribed period of time, when a pupil has committed a critically serious violation under the district’s guidelines for suspension and/or expulsion.

The Student Review and Interventions Administrator facilitates meetings and/or hearings related to a request for expulsion and ensures that the pupil is provided with full and complete due process. The Student Review and Interventions Office reviews requests for pupils requesting readmission from expulsion and ensures that a pupil has met the conditions of rehabilitation that were part of the expulsion order by the Board of Education. The Student Review and Interventions Administrator also works with school administration to ensure a safe learning environment for pupils and staff.

Additionally, the Student Review and Interventions Office processes suspension appeals to the district after an initial appeal has been made to the Principal of the school.
