Community Advisory Committee (CAC)

The Special Education Community Advisory Committee currently has multiple openings for individuals who have an interest in the delivery of special education services. As a member, you will help guide refinement and future development of our Special Education Local Plan that guides our delivery of services to students.
Any parent/guardian, student, staff member or community member with a passion and interest in special education services delivered by the San Juan Special Education Local Plan Area is eligible to participate. Appointments to the committee are made by members of the Board of Education. and superintendent.

The San Juan Unified School District Special Education Community Advisory Committee (CAC) is a Board of Education approved committee. The CAC includes parents, community members, and San Juan staff. The CAC comes together in true partnership in an effort to fully support all children with special needs and works with the San Juan District staff to advise the District and the Board of Education concerning services for students with special needs.

How to submit a public comment
Submit via email at any time to vanessa.vazquez@sanjuan.edu. Comments submitted before 5 p.m. on the day of the meeting will be shared during the meeting. Public comments are subject to a two-minute limit, approximately 300 words for written comments.
When the CAC Chair calls for public comment on an item during the meeting, those who raise their hand will be called on. You will be asked to state your name and you will be provided with up to two minutes to provide a comment.
Under the Green Act, the committee is unable to respond to any individual comments or questions regarding items not on the agenda; however, the committee listens carefully to all public comments and appreciates community input and participation.
