Schools outside of San Juan Unified requesting cumulative records: please send an official records request on your school official letterhead to the school site to recordsrequest@sanjuan.edu OR directly to the SJUSD school site.

Please note: cumulative files are not sent unless an official request for records on school letterhead is received. Cumulative files are not sent prior to the student's withdrawal date from SJUSD. Pre-enrollment records can be requested by the new school site.
Please do not use any of the San Juan Unified School District record request forms. Those are for current or former students and parents.

Please be advised that we need at least five (5) working days to prepare your request.
California Education Code (Cal. Code Regs. Tit. 5, § 437 - Retention and Destruction of Pupil Records, Retention and Destruction of Records) and the compliance thereof which requires records be kept for at least 2 years; San Juan Unified School District maintains the Academic Records of students five years past the last date of enrollment.
Special Education Records are kept for at least three years past the last date of enrollment. At the time of archival expiration, the records are destroyed.
