San Juan Unified values transparency in its decision making and records keeping processes. Members of the public who have a question on a specific topic or would like access to specific documents are encouraged to contact the appropriate office directly.

California's Public Records Act Requests
The district's Legal Services office receives these requests and will respond within the timelines provided in the law. You may submit a formal request by calling (916) 971-7110, completing this form, or emailing. Please do not request student records or transcripts with these links.
Schools requesting student records
If you are a school requesting student records, please send an official records request on your school letterhead to the school site. For a list of Records Clerks/ Registrars, click here

Transcripts
If you are a former student or graduate of the San Juan Unified School District, you may order your high school transcripts from the school where you graduated or last attended. School contact information is available under Transcript Request Tab. Former students over the age of 18 must request their own transcript.
If the school you attended no longer exists, please fill out this form and it will be submitted electronically to recordsrequest@sanjuan.edu
The form is available in English and Spanish by selecting the language at the top right of the form. Click on the down arrow to change from English to Spanish.
Please be advised that we need at least five (5) working days to prepare your request.
Student Academic Records
If you need to request school records for yourself or your student, please fill out this form and it will be submitted electronically to recordsrequest@sanjuan.edu. Examples of Student records: Behavior, Attendance, Proof of Enrollment, Immunization records, etc.
Note- cumulative files and hard copy records of in-district students are kept for 5 years then destroyed. Not all records are digital. If the student left the district, please contact the last known school of enrollment for records. Former students over the age of 18 must request their own records.

Student Withdrawal Request
If you wish to withdraw your student from a San Juan Unified School District site, please download and complete the Parent Authorization to Withdraw/Authorization to Release Confidential Information form (double-sided) . Please send or take the completed form with a copy of Valid Identification to your student(s) school site where the withdrawal will be completed. Only parents/legal guardians can withdraw students.

Student Special Education Records
Please contact the San Juan Unified Special Education Office to request copies of IEPs.
**Note** hard copy Special Education records are destroyed after 3 years. Not all records are digital.
