Child Abuse Prevention Training 

California Senate Bill 848 - Child Abuse Prevention Training

In accordance with California Senate Bill  (SB) 849, San Juan Unified is committed to maintaining safe, supportive learning environments by establishing clear expectations for all adults who interact with students. As a part of this commitment, volunteers are expected to understand and follow district policies regarding professional boundaries, appropriate interactions with students, and mandatory reporting requirements. 

All volunteers must complete the required Child Abuse Prevention Training. Please see details regarding the training below:

• San Juan Unified has partnered with PublicSchoolWORKS to provide the training at no cost to volunteers.
• After submitting the Volunteer Verification Form, you will receive an email with instructions to register for the training. You may also access the training here: Child Abuse Prevention Training and select the "Staff/Volunteer Training" box to enter the training module.
• At the end of the training, you will complete a 10-question quiz. A score of 70% or higher is required to successfully complete the course.
• Upon successful completion, you will receive a PDF certificate for your records. San Juan Unified receives completion reports directly from PublicSchoolWORKS and will update your Volunteer Verification Form once your training has been verified. You do not need to submit your certificate.
