• San Juan Unified's COVID-19 Safety Plan

    It is our goal to ensure health and safety so that learning continues without interruption through the 2021-2022 school year. San Juan Unified is committed to following the latest requirements and guidance from federal, state and local health officials to protect the health and safety of students, staff members and the community. 

    This plan is reviewed and updated when new guidance is published by health officials or as local conditions change. Families, students and staff are encouraged to review the entire plan.


    Updates have been made to the plan on Oct. 1. The following areas have changes or new additions: 

    • Face Coverings
      • Allows school sites to identify outdoor masking as a mitigation measure to a specific risk factor in their site's COVID-19 Prevention Plan.
    • Physical Distancing 
      • Reinforces the importance of seating charts or alternatives when not possible. 
    • Events
      • Provides for homecoming, junior prom and senior ball dances. 
      • Provides for assemblies with reduced/smaller group attendance.
      • Establishes expectations for signage and announcements at athletic competitions and student performances.
    • Modified Quarantine
      • Students enrolled in Discovery Club (DC) or Bridges are now eligible for modified quarantine.
