I’d also like to take this moment to congratulate our LeGette students for a highly successful year! All year, you’ve worked really hard at transitioning back to in-person learning and readjusting to what school use to feel like. You've shown great gains in academic achievement. And, I’m really proud of how nice and respectful you are as students! I’m lucky to be your principal!
I’d like to take a moment to personally thank my entire staff for their support and hard work throughout the year. Everyone has gone above and beyond compared to a "normal" year. The community should be proud of our dedicated educators who spend countless hours year-after-year helping our students learn academics, as well as how to be productive members of society. This has been especially true this year.
And, I can’t forget to extend a big thank you to all our parents. Your support during the year has been phenomenal. I highly encourage you to have your student continue reading over the summer, using iReady reading (grades 3-6) and LexiaCore 5 reading (K-2), working on writing (i.e. letter to grandma or another relative), and their math facts (i.e. iReady math, Khan Academy, flash cards). Like great athletes, keeping the mind sharp in off-seasons leads to more productive future years. If you’d like suggestions on academic activities for the summer break, please ask your child’s teacher or visit our website. Simply click on the top banner, “Bright Ideas for Summer Learning.”
All of us at LeGette say farewell this year and we extend a huge thank you to Ms. Schatz, Mrs. Brady, and Mrs. Rambob. They will be teaching at different schools next year. Additionally, we'll be saying thank you and extending best wishes to Mrs. Teresi, who is retiring at the end of the year. Her dedication to our music program over the years greatly contributed to LeGette's solid reputation and brought a lot of joy to our students. She is going to be greatly missed. Please be sure to send them an email, so you can thank them for their service to our LeGette students! They will all be missed.
Just so you can plan ahead, our first day back to school is Thursday, August 11.
And finally, I’d like to congratulate our 6th grade class who will be promoted at the end of the year. You’ve been a great group of young adults, especially with the challenge of this year! We wish you the very best as you venture on to middle school next year.
As always, if you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to contact me at school. Thank, you!
