Well, this Saturday is the big event! Yes…it’s our annual PTO Carnival! And this year is bigger and better than ever. PLUS, less expensive games and activities. You don’t want to miss out on the fun. Our Carnival runs 2 to 6 p.m. I hope to see everyone there! And, please be sure to help me thank Anmarie Medin for chairing this entire event and leading our committee of helpers. We can’t thank Anmarie enough for all the carnivals she’s overseen the past years.
I’m looking for several parents who’d be willing to serve on our Safe Schools Team. We will only meet several times during the year, but it’s important to have parent perspectives and input on our safe school’s plan. If you’re interested, please contact me.
Additionally, we’re once again putting together a team of parents and teachers to attend three regional forums this year to help with the district’s strategic planning process and the creation of the new three-year Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). Your participation on this team is vital and needed. It’s important that parent and community members have their voices heard as we move our work forward for the betterment of student learning. Our first evening meeting will be held on Monday, October 14, 4 to 7 p.m., at the Fair Oaks Presbyterian Church. Child care and dinner are provided. If you’re interested in joining this team or simply have questions, please email or call me.
We’re half-way through our first Every Day Matters Challenge, which runs until October 18. If students have no absences and/or tardies during the entire six-week time period, they will be eligible to participate in our first ever outdoor BBQ lunch! But don’t worry, we’ll have weekly drawings for prizes as well. Thank you for doing all you can to help your student(s) stay healthy and attend school every day, on-time!
I appreciate all our parent and community helpers who visit LeGette classrooms to assist with student learning. As a reminder, please ensure you sign-in when you arrive and sign-out when you leave. This is for security and safety reasons. We appreciate your cooperation.
Lastly, our big Jog-A-Thon is coming up on October 24. This is a campus-wide activity that takes place during Red Ribbon Week. If you can help out on Jog-A-Thon Day, please call the office and we’ll pass your name along to Tangie Rutherford. I’d like to thank Tangie for putting together this awesome event. It’s going to be a ton of fun, while raising money for our school and students. As always, if you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to contact me at school. Thank, you!Greg Barge
