I hope you’ll mark your calendar for our PTO 80’s Night and Auction, which is being held on Saturday, February 29, at the Folsom Community Center. Cost is only $40 per person and is a great fundraiser for PTO.  The night will be a ton of fun: food, beverages, gaming, and silent & live auctions. I’d like to thank Laura Hagerty and our PTO Board for taking the lead on this event and all the parent volunteers who are helping out.  Additionally, our PTO Exec Board and I would like to thank the following sponsors for the night: Jenny Jones Realtor, Law Office of Justin McCrea, Morgan Mechanical, Arbonne by Ashley Stanfield, Secrets of Maui, Rutherford One Insurance, D B Solomon Adjusters, Say Pies, Bella Bru, Favier Floral by Nicole McKane, and Lifetouch. Be sure to thank them for their generous donations!  If you’d like to be a sponsor, just call the office or email our PTO.  Tickets go on sale January 24 at our PTO website. I hope to see you there!

I’m sure you’re already aware that it’s really important to have students at school every day and on-time, unless they are sick. When students miss school due to late arrival or leaving early, or when families take vacation when school is in session, students truly miss out on important instruction.  I know some things are unavoidable.  Nevertheless, please do what you can to have students at school as much as possible. It really benefits them in the long run. Over 50 families have received chronic absence letters to date. These are informational for most, but a “call to action” for a few. As a school site, we use various strategies to inform families about attendance issues and work with them to resolve problems. We’re working hard to encourage students to take steps to remain healthy and to be at school every day. Thanks for your help!

Parent volunteers are key contributors to LeGette’s success! Staff greatly appreciate all adults who help out at school, whether it’s in the classroom or work taken home.  However, when adults are on campus, it’s vital that they check in at the main office and take a visitor sticker.  And equally important is to ensure you sign out.  When we have safety drills or if we actually have an emergency situation, we need to know exactly who’s on campus and in what room they’re working.  Thank you for signing in and out every time you volunteer at LeGette.

You don’t want to miss our upcoming Winter Band Concert. It’s being held on Friday, January 24, at 6:30 p.m. in the LeGette MP Room.  I’d like to thank Mrs. Teresi for all her hard work with our band and choir programs, as well as our students’ hard work by showing up early in the morning for practice. Keep up the great work!

Lastly, don’t forget to attend our yummy Pancake Breakfast this Saturday. It’s being held from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. in the MP Room.

As always, if you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to contact me at school. Thank, you!
