Principal's Message

I’d like to welcome back our returning families and send out a special welcome to the many new families who have joined the LeGette community. We're really fortunate to have such involved and caring parents. Your partnership in keeping our students safe, healthy, and ready for learning is appreciated.

As most of you are aware, our annual Back-To-School Night for grades 1-6 takes place this Thursday night. I highly encourage all of you to attend. I'll be kicking things off in the multipurpose room at 5:30 p.m. for parents of students in grades 1-3 and Mrs. Blair's class. At 6:30 p.m., parents of students in grades 4-6 and in Miss Shanks' class will join me in the MP Room. I look forward to telling you about our year ahead.

I highly encourage you to read the entire LeGette News as soon as it's sent to you, because it contains a lot of information vital to the success of our school and the safety of our students.

This year, we are planning a lot of events at LeGette. Our Fall Enrichment kicks off the year on August 29, with our first Book Fair already scheduled for September 26-30. As we look towards the rest of the year, our PTO is already planning on a Movie Night at LeGette, our annual Jogathon, Holiday Shop, a parent evening fundraising event, Pancake Breakfast, and the spring Book Fair. All of these activities will remain scheduled unless we hear otherwise from Sacramento County Public Health and/or our district.

Lastly, as you've noticed, our modernization project is well underway. They will soon start building the new wing and multipurpose room. Whereas this will cause a few inconveniences in the next year-and-a half, the finished "new school" will be well worth it. Our official Ground Breaking ceremony will be held on Thursday, August 25, at 9:30 a.m.

Once again, welcome back folks! It's an honor and pleasure to be at LeGette as our site principal. We truly have great students, staff, and families.
