• Fall 2021

On behalf of our entire staff, I’d like to welcome you to an exciting new school year and for being a part of Earl LeGette School.  I can truly tell you that you’ve chosen a superb school with dedicated staff members who will do whatever they can to help your student achieve great heights. Our staff works really hard to make this a kid-friendly place, while at the same time maintaining high standards for student learning and behavior.  We look forward to working with you and your child.

Additionally, we’re working diligently to ensure your students return to school as safely as possible. Masks are required for everyone while indoors and we’re asking all parents who walk onto campus to also wear a mask. Currently, we’re not allowed to have parents inside classrooms. However, teachers would still love volunteers to do filing or other things that are needed.  Students will also still be washing/sanitizing hands after recess and before lunch.  Our main goal in all that we ask of you and do on-site is to keep our students healthy and in school full-time. We appreciate your patience and compliance.

Another top priority of mine is to help your child be successful in school through a strong partnership between teacher and parent.  I hope to assist parents whenever possible when they have academic, attendance, or parenting questions.  The first event I highly encourage you to attend is our Back-To-School Night that’s scheduled for the evening of August 19 for grades 1-6.  Times and format are still being worked on as a result of new safety guidance. Regardless of format, by attending (or viewing) my presentation and your student’s classroom teacher presentation, you’ll learn specific ways you can work in partnership with the school to help your child succeed.  We hope that you will choose to participate in this very important meeting.

In addition to working with your own child, we hope that you will take advantage of the many opportunities available for parents to become involved in our school.  PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) Information is included in this packet.  Please review this booklet and fill out the Volunteer Form on the last page (select one or more activities that you would like to assist with). This form should be returned to school with your child.  We realize parents aren’t able to help in the classroom or with other activities during the school day, but can volunteer to help at home or sign up to assist with one of the many PTO activities.  Our PTO does a fantastic job of directly supporting our classrooms and our teacher efforts.

I’m really glad you’re here and I look forward to working with you this year.  I hope you will find a way to get involved in our school to continue our success.  Kids who get involved usually enjoy school more and do better–we hope that’s YOU!  We want all our parents to feel welcome!
