Wow! Our Holiday Gift Shop was a huge success again this year! A lot of students were able to buy high quality gifts for great prices. I can’t thank enough two special people who made this entire event possible- Taja Ferrarini and her mom, Teri Accurso!  Thank you, thank you!  Also, it took a huge crew to set-up, break-down, and run for four-days. Please help me thank the following parent volunteers for all their help: Laura Hagerty, Akiima Ruddy, Debbie Richter, Jenny Stefanek, Kamille Morgan, Kathleen Ward, Katie Reid, Kim Hammons, Kristine Keller, Leanne Ortega, Linda Howard, Natalie Medenhall, Rachel Larsen, Rosemary Dietrich, Staci Lopez, Tangie Rutherford, and Tara Muchow.  A big thank you to everyone!

I’d like to thank all of you who stopped by the office and checked out the snowmen on our Giving Tree. All of them were picked up this year! This has never been done before. Our families will be so appreciative as a result of your generosity. We have an awesome community. Thank you for making this year’s holiday special!  As a reminder, all packages need to be wrapped and dropped off at the main office by December 18. Please ensure you attach the snowman to the item.

As with last year, I’m starting to look for parents who are able to come to LeGette several times a month during lunch to assist with lunchtime activities or intramurals.  Also, I’m seeing if there’s anyone who can help out with our annual March Madness basketball tournament, especially referring.  If you’d like to hear more about our plans, please contact me via phone or email. Can you help us out?

During the holiday break (December 21 through January 6), I ask all parents and guardians to allocate some time so their children can read, practice a little math and maybe write a letter or two to relatives.  Be sure to ask your child to read to you 5-10 minutes a night and to read to themselves an additional 10-minutes.  Also, if your student needs LexiaCore or has been assigned to iReady, be sure they practice several times per week.  Reading and math are key building blocks to academic success!

Be sure to check out the back of the blue news for a special announcement on how you can vote Earl LeGette as the best school in Fair Oaks! Voting ends on December 15!

Lastly, our first day back after winter break is Tuesday, January 7! Thank you for ensuring your student is at school on January 7 and on-time. We’d like to start off the year with perfect attendance and no tardies. One can wish big, right?

As always, if you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to contact me at school. Thank, you!
