• Dear Parents, Families, and Students,

    My name is Teresa Cummings and I am delighted to be the principal of Gold River Discovery Center!  I am eager to work collaboratively with our team and community to continue providing our students with the skills and knowledge necessary that will prepare them for a successful life.  I have an open door policy and I am readily available to meet and discuss questions, concerns, or suggestions you may have. Also, please stop by and introduce yourself. 

    Our school was built in 1993 and we are proud to carry on the high expectations of excellence established in 1993.  The teachers and staff are committed to a high quality education for all students. Since the school’s opening we have strived to be innovative and trendsetters with our teaching. The GRDC curriculum is based on the rigorous Common Core State Standards and is extended with implementation of Project Based Learning units in all grades. In addition, the school is unique with the usage of our community garden and our sixth grade monthly trips to the American River.  Gold River serves preschool – eighth grade and has successfully evolved to become one of the highest performing and model PK-8th grade schools in the county.  Gold River Discovery Center is a special school with partnerships fostered with parents and community. It is the norm to see parents volunteering and participating in their child’s education and to hear of the fantastic events that our PTO has organized.  I encourage you to check our website regularly and become a fan of Gold River Discovery Center on Facebook.
