Mission
Mary A. Deterding, an arts inspired K-6 Learning Community, will educate each student to become a compassionate and confident life-long learner, reaching their highest level of personal achievement through an innovative, rigorous academic curriculum that integrates the visual and performing arts.
Objectives
During 2015-16, 100% of 5th and 6th grade students will participate in band and be kept accountable to show growth as measured by practice logs, quizzes, and belt progress (level testing).
During 2015-16, 100% of 4th grade students will participate in the recorder program and be kept accountable to show growth as measured by practice logs, quizzes, and belt progress (level testing).
During 2015-16, 100% of the students in all grade levels will receive music instruction and will pass the music class using the curriculum and tests from Education Through Music (ETM).
During 2015-16, 100% of the students in all grade levels will perform on the stage with their grade level to show what they have learned in music and dance.
By May 2016, students will take responsibility for their actions and decrease the number of suspensions from 0.9% to .5% as measured by reports in Zangle.
By May 2016, our attendance will increase by 1% to 97% as measured by the attendance report in Q.
By May 2016, students will increase their perceived character traits by 10% each as measured by the parent, student, and teacher survey.
By May 2016, we will increase the number of students to 70% who are meeting grade level standards in ELA and Math on CAASPP and MAP, utilizing school wide student created personal learning plans.
By May 2016, we will increase the number of students meeting growth targets to an average of 50% in grades 3-6 by using after school intervention and small group instruction during the school day as measured by the MAP test.
By May 2016, we will increase the number of EL students meeting growth targets to 50% in grades 3-6 by using after school intervention and small group instruction during the school day as measured by the MAP test.
By May 2016, we will increase the number of low SES students meeting growth targets to 50% in grades 3-6 by using after school intervention and small group instruction during the school day as measured by the MAP test.
By May 2016, we will increase the number of students meeting grade level targets in grades K-2 to 50% by using after school intervention, small group instruction during the school day, and intervention materials as measured by the Running Records test.
