In 2010, Pasadena Avenue Elementary was one of the first San Juan Unified schools to undertake what was then a new site based strategic planning process. A representative group of stakeholders came together for three days to draft and finalize the school's mission, objectives and tactics to be used. A broad based group of participants then examined each tactic to develop specific action plans that would be undertaken in the next five years.
Developing innovative thinkers, Pasadena Elementary's mission is to ensure all students are academically successful while becoming respectful and responsible citizens through quality, student-centered instruction within a community of trust.
Objectives
All students will demonstrate creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and communication as a result of Common Core instruction.
All students will develop and practice the character traits that build a community of respectful and responsible citizens.
By 2017, through multiple measures, all students will show an increase in academic growth in ELA and Math.
