Student Learning Assistance

  • Focusing on the student, the Office of Student Learning Assistance personalizes education by customizing teaching and learning to support and enhance quality first instruction.
    San Juan Unified School District will proactively inform district personnel, parents and community about existing state and federal guidance and programs for students.  The district will implement state and federal programs compliantly and monitor and review the use of program funds on a regular basis.  
    What is Student Learning Assistance?
    Student Learning Assistance is support beyond the traditional day or course offering that addresses the need for intervention/remediation, homework support/help, enrichment and engagement in a safe and supervised environment.
    What can Student Learning Assistance Programs do?
    Provide engaging and academically beneficial experiences to:
    • Prevent summer learning loss 
    • Help to close the achievement gap 
    • Support working families 
    • Keep children safe and healthy 
    • Prepare students for post-secondary education 
    • Improve staff recruitment, retention, and training/development
