We encourage students to read more and develop good reading skills. Our most important goal in the library is to make students interested in reading and books. Each class in Kindergarten through 5th grade has its own scheduled time to look for books of their interest. In addition, students are allowed to come at their recess time to exchange books or just spend few quite minutes with a book in their hands. Checking out books from the library teaches children about responsibility. Students know they are responsible for the books they take out of the library and take good care of them.

We try hard to build our library and keep it up to date with titles that are interesting for kids. Our most powerful tool for that is Scholastic Book Fairs. Scholastic Book Fairs benefit students and the school library. On one hand, it gives opportunity to the students to find great books for really good prices and gives Spanish learning students access to so-hard-to-find Spanish titles; on the other hand, our school gets new books for library if Book Fair is successful.

Note for the parent/guardian: Please remind your child to keep their library books in a safe place and encourage them to keep food and drinks away of the library books. If you didn’t return “Library Permission” form to a teacher or school office you child will not be able to check out books from the library. Please, give your child an opportunity to read more.
