• Dear Parent or Guardian:

Welcome to the 2021 – 2022 school year and a new year of PTA.  As we start the year, remember that our main focus is our children.  Partnerships between parents, educators, and children enhance children’s success. We know that children learn more and have better lives when everyone in the school community works together to share thoughts and information and work on projects to benefit children.

If this is your first year at Cottage, I would like to extend a very warm welcome to each of you.  If you are a “seasoned” Cottage parent, I know you are as excited as we are to get the school year started.  It has been great to see smiling faces back on campus.  The prior school year was a challenging one and I am glad to say that we made it through and am looking forward to all the new things to come this year.

Some of the past activities and programs included an art docent program, Phil Tulga music program, tie-dye extravaganza, family math & science night, family movie night, staff appreciation, field trips, financial workshops for families, book fair, and Passport Around the World to name a few.  By becoming a member, you can become an important part of helping to ensure that these types of plans become a reality.  We are always open to new ideas and resources and would love for you to share that with us.

I have been a Cottage parent for eight years now.  My older son went to Cottage and my younger son is currently in Upper El.  I have found joining PTA to be a great way to have a voice in what happens in our school and to help provide programs to our children.  It has been a great opportunity to share some of my own skills and hobbies.  I encourage each and every one of you to become a part of our team.

Let’s make this a great school year!

    Sincerely,

    Ku Chung

    Cottage PTA President
