    Clearing Student Absences

There are a number of ways parents can clear their child’s absence(s)

    • Leave a message on the 24 hour attendance line (916) 575-2329
    • Email at delpasomanorabsence@sanjuan.edu
    • Send a note to school with your child stating day(s) absent and reason

For a “verified” absence, a doctor’s note is required.

Please remember you have 5 days to clear an absence. After 5 days, the absence rolls to a cut and cannot be changed.

    CAASPP School Testing Dates

Starting the month of March, students in San Juan Unified will be taking the end-of year state CAASPP assessment.   Students in grades 3-8 and 11 will take the ELA and math assessments, and students in grades 5, 8 & 12 will take the California Science Test (CAST) in addition to the ELA and math assessments. These tests are one measurement to assess your student’s progress.   These assessments are an important part of California’s plan for high-quality teaching and learning.  They provide important information to schools, teachers, and parents about how students are doing academically against California’s challenging learning goals.

Del Paso Manor Elementary's testing window is March 25, 2019 to May 31, 2019.  It is important that your student(s) attend school during the testing window.   Our 5th graders are scheduled to take their Science test the week of April 8th-12th.  The ELA and Math testing window starts on Tuesday, April 23rd and runs until May 31, 2019.

We understand you play an important role in your child’s learning.  In preparation for the end-of-year assessments, you can help your child prepare by taking a practice test with him/her.  The practice test gives students an opportunity to try out items similar to what they may see on the end-of-year test.  Try out the practice test at https://www.sanjuan.edu/testing
