Bella Vista Parents and Community,
My name is Darrin Kitchen, and I’m truly honored to be your new principal. The long-standing Bella Vista tradition is clearly evident, and my transition into this educational community has been nothing short of exciting. Bella Vista is blessed to have such dedicated faculty, and I'm honored to be a part of the long-standing tradition of academic success. I am passionate not only about student learning but in the involvement a community makes in assisting students reach their educational and life goals. Bella Vista has a storied history of positively impacting all students, and I look forward to engaging with both students and parents in their journey.
Parents, please find your niche in becoming involved with your student and their learning experiences. There is a vast number of opportunities to join parent groups specifically involved with your child’s extracurricular activities. Various academic and athletic clubs are a great way for you to involve yourself in school-related programs, but there are other forums as well like Site Council, PTSA, chaperoning school events, and WASC (Western Association of School and Colleges). This year will be a mid-review year for our accreditation, and we will be forming a parent panel to assist in this process.
Students, the beginning of the school year is fast approaching. Our first day of school is August 16th. It is anticipated that you will be excited to see your friends and our staff is ready to use that energy to begin the 2018-19 school year on a high note. In addition, Bella Vista students have an array of choices to become involved in the school culture. Student participation rates in activities beyond the regular high school day are remarkable, and I am proud of your resilience to take on all challenges.
Once again, I’m honored to be your new Principal, and I look forward to assisting every student on their educational journey.
