Accelerated Reader Program
All students grades 2-5 participate in the Accelerated Reader Program, also know as AR. Students take a computer test that determines their level, then read books and take corresponding quizzes.
Accelerated Reader provides an essential practice component of our core reading curriculum. In addition to making reading practice fun and exciting for every student, AR gives the students continuous feedback to personalize instruction so every student achieves maximum success.
Books are color coded with labels by reading level.
Accelerated Reader helps create excitement for reading in three easy steps. At the same time, it helps teachers and parents continuously guide students to books that will maximize growth.
2. Student Takes a Quiz. Accelerated Reader Enterprise offers more than 100,000 quizzes to help you motivate and monitor increased reading practice.
3. Teachers Get Information. Teachers get immediate information feedback on the reading and vocabulary progress of each student.
Accelerated Reader goals are set by teachers and students. Students earn points toward their designated goals and earn a "ticket" to a party at the end of each trimester.Ask your child which "AR" book they are reading today!
