    Here are the grade level specific supply letters for the 2018-2019 school year. K-5 Class assignments will be mailed home in early August.





    Special Note on School Supply Lists:

    All required materials and supplies will be provided by schools to students at no cost. We recognize that many families wish to provide supplies for their own student or donate materials for the entire school community and are welcome to do so at any time. These supply lists are provided as suggested materials and are not required of any student or family to fully participate in the school’s academic program.

Grade Level Supply Lists

  • Eighth grade Supply List 2018-2019

    Welcome to the GRDC 8th grade program! Schedule pick up day is Wednesday, August 15th from 10-11 AM in the MP room. The first day of school is Thursday August 16th.  Here is a list of recommended supplies and/or donations for the 2018-2019 year, plus information about summer preparation for 8th grade.                                                     

    Student supplies—these are recommended

    Calculator—(Texas Instruments TI-30X is best) 12-inch ruler with metric

    English/History

    For English, please make sure to read over the summer break! Be prepared to talk about your reading when we return in August. Bring 7th grade reading log and an independent reading book (IR) with you on the first day of class.

     

    Math/Science

    Consider reviewing concepts on Khan Academy, or practicing your skills at www.math-play.com/math-fractions-games.html. For science, please find an interesting science article and bring it to share on the first day of class!

  • Seventh grade Supply List 2018-2019

  • Fifth grade Supply List 2018-2019

    Dear 5th Grader and Parents,

     

                Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year!  We are excited about having you in our classes and can’t wait to hit the ground running in August and have a very successful learning experience.  Enjoy the rest of your summer!

                Below are the supplies we would like you to have for the year.  Other than the optional items, all listed supplies are used throughout the year. Please try to bring them in on the first day of school so that we can try to get organized right away. Some materials won’t be needed until later in the year so a handful of things will be coming back home the first day. (Nothing needs to be new-except maybe Kleenex!)

     

    1- 1.5” binder-white with clear view cover (assessment binder for all graded work)

    1- 0.5” inch white binder with clear view cover (2nd tri. Project)

    5- solid colored pocket folders (need to be sturdy)

    2- block erasers (or your own box of pencil top erasers to use throughout the year)

    1- set of state name/capital flash cards (may be homemade)-start memorizing!

    2- composition books (Writer’s & Reader’s Workshop)

    1- pencil box (small to medium size/desk space is limited)

    Hello 4th grade students!  We hope you are having a wonderful summer vacation. Below is a list of tools that will help you to be well prepared for school in August. Please use a permanent marker or labels to put your name on your supplies before you bring them to school.

     

    1 backpack

    2 three-ring binders, 1 inch

    2 packages tab binder dividers

    1 durable, plastic pocket folder (preferably pockets on inside front/back)

    1 composition book

    2 spiral notebooks, college ruled

    2 packages binder paper

    2 dozen #2 pencils

    1 package red ball point pens                                                       

    1 highlighter pen, any color

    1 regular pink eraser

    1 pack 24 count colored pencils

    1 box 24 count crayons

    1 small package multicolored wipe-erase pens (thin pens take up less space)

    2 large glue sticks

    1 ruler (inches and cm)

    1 pair scissors

    1 pencil sharpener (hand held with a catch for shavings)

    1 pencil/supply box

    1 protractor

    Optional:  One pair of personal headphones or ear buds to be used during technology

    Welcome to third grade at Gold River Discovery Center! We are looking forward to working with and having you as part of our class.  Listed below are items we will use throughout the year to supplement supplies provided by the school.  We hope you are as excited about starting school as we are!

     

      Individual supplies

    • Backpack (please do not bring rolling backpacks)
    • 1 ball-point pen with red ink
    • 1 box of colored pencils box of 12 or less

    • 1 skinny dry erase marker  • 1 standard ruler with inches and centimeters  • 1 highlighter (any color)  • 2 spiral notebooks (70 pages, wide-ruled)
    • 6-8 oz bottle of hand sanitizer • 1 pencil box, 5” x 8” (no bigger)  • 1 hand held pencil sharpener that will catch shavings  • 4 large glue sticks  • 2 portfolio folder with 2 side pockets – no prongs  •  Two 1-inch binders of different colors with pockets on each cover. One of them needs see-through sleeve on front.  • 1 set of dividers for the binder  • set of Crayola type non-permanent markers • 1 box of colored pencils (Please buy brand named pencils. The others break and do not last.)  • 2 box of #2 pencils  • 2 boxes of Kleenex  • 1 box gallon size Ziplock bags • Chlorox or Lysol wipes      Due to the very small desk space, we ask that you not bring in “extras” such as bigger binders.  Keep all those extras in your study place at home!     We will send letters home through.  We appreciate the interest you take in making this a successful year.  Thanks for your help in getting this year off to a super start!

    We are so excited for the beginning of the 2018-2019 School Year. So many wonderful things await us in the months ahead! 

     

    Below you will find our Kindergarten Supply List. We respectfully ask that you purchase supplies that match the descriptions as close as possible. This will help us ensure that everyone has the appropriate supplies for their work.

     

    Each student will need to bring:

    • Standard Size Backpack without wheels (approx. 17” – 18” H)
    • Lunch Box
    • 1 - Ream of standard 8 ½” x 11” WHITE copy paper
    • 1 box (10-12) #2 Ticonderoga Pencils (no mechanical pencils)
    • 10 Crayola Markers - Standard Bold Colors
    • 1 box Crayola Colored Pencils – Standard Bold Colors
    • 2 boxes of 24 Thin Crayola Crayons – Standard Bold Colors (please no boxes bigger than 24 crayons and regular thin crayons NOT thick round or triangular, standard colors only)
    • 2 - 1.27 oz Avery Permanent Glue Sticks (not purple glue that dries clear)      
    • 1 – set of Earbuds for personal use only (to be kept in the classroom, should be able to fit in to a snack size ziplock baggie)
