    Skycrest Stars Have Character!

Skycrest Stars work to show their character around the school. As students go about their day our Skycrest staff watches for behavior and actions that show: Caring, Respect, Responsibility, Honesty, Perseverance, and Initiative. When students are seen exhibiting these traits, they are given a "blue ticket" which they turn in to enter into a drawing at one of our Character Education Assemblies.

    Our Character Education Assembly Schedule:

    August 25, 2022 (Caring)

    September 22, 2022 (Responsibility)

    November 3, 2022 (Respect)

    January 26, 2023 (Honesty)

    February 16, 2023 (Initiative)

    March 30, 2023 (Autism Awareness)

    April 27, 2023 (Perseverance)

Our Character Education Assemblies focus on teaching each of these six character traits. Each grade level presents the character trait in a song or skit to teach the rest of the school about that trait. Students and staff sing our Character song and recognize the students who were selected by their teachers as showing each months' focus character trait.

Students who turn in blue tickets are entered into a drawing. Several students names are drawn and they are invited up to the front to spin the "Big Wheel" to win a class prize, such as an Admin Read-A-Loud, Otter pops, 10 minutes of Computer Time, Extra Recess, or Movie and Popcorn!

We love our students and all of the great accomplishments that they have made. Being a Skycrest Star means that you've got character!
