Regular attendance is essential for learning!

Parents are asked to clear all absences within 10 school days. If your child is/has been absent or tardy we ask that you call the Student Absence number 979-8189 and leave a message. This phone line is available twenty-four hours a day. These recorded messages will be compared with the teacher’s daily attendance record to make sure that all children are accounted for. If your child is absent and you have not called the Student Absence number, you will be called to verify your child’s absence.

San Juan Unified School District allows each parent/guardian to excuse up to 10 days without verification of illness from a medical professional or school employee. Anytime your child has a doctor's appointment and/or documentation requiring them to stay home from school, provide this information immediately when your student returns to school. These absences will be recorded as verified and will not take away from the 10 day parent excused limit.

If your child will not be attending on the first day of school, it is important that you notify the school office prior to the start of school. If your child does not attend on the first day of school and the office is not notified, your child may lose his/her reserved space to new enrollees who will be assigned any vacancies beginning the second day of school. WE HAVE REACHED OUR MAXIMUM ENROLLMENT IN MOST GRADE LEVELS, SO IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU CONTACT THE SCHOOL OFFICE IF YOUR CHILD WILL NOT BE ATTENDING ON THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL.
