About Camp Winthers
Environmental education programs have been conducted at Camp Winthers since 1957. The camp is owned and operated by the San Juan Unified School District and is located three miles south of Soda Springs off Interstate 80, adjacent to one of the most beautiful lakes in the Sierra. The facilities are rustic but very adequate in keeping with the Camp Winthers tradition. Campers sleep on cots in tent cabins. The temperatures are generally between 45 and 80 degrees, but always be prepared for cooler and possibly wet weather. Meals are appetizing, wholesome and plentiful. Showers are available and recommended. In order to give campers a well-rounded experience, all participants will engage in regular camp activities such as hiking, swimming, boating, fishing, archery, campfires and skits. This will ensure a good balance of mental and physical activities.Campers are supervised at all times. All camp staff receive extensive training and are committed to providing a fun and meaningful experience for each camper. We invite your child to participate in the summer 2019 programs at Camp Winthers.Happy Trails,John Infelise, Program CoordinatorRelated Files2019 Registration FormContacting Camp Winthers
