- Winston Churchill Middle School
- Principal's Message
January 15, 2019
Dear Churchill Families,
My name is Brent Givens and it is with great pride and excitement that I introduce myself as the new principal at Winston Churchill Middle School. I am honored to have been selected to join this amazing school, and I look forward to partnering with you to provide our students with a rigorous, engaging, and high-quality middle school experience. Churchill is known across the region for its outstanding International Baccalaureate program along with its wide range of electives and extracurricular offerings and I am committed to ensuring that reputation continues.
I have been dedicated to the field of education for the last twenty years and have served in a variety of teaching and educational leadership roles. I started my career in the classroom as a middle school teacher and then went on to serve as a district level technology coordinator, middle school vice principal and now I’m in my ninth year as a middle school principal.
As the parent of three school-aged children who are 15, 12 and 9 and being married to a teacher, I recognize the importance of a strong home-school connection. Parents are every child’s first teacher and I believe that working together, we can make sure that your child’s social, emotional and academic needs are met.
I believe that great schools are the results of great teachers, working together to build meaningful relationships with our students and helping them achieve to their fullest potential. I want you to know that I am committed to listening, collaborating and learning to ensure our students are prepared for high school, college and 21stcentury careers.
I will be working closely with our Assistant Principals, Mr. Magliola and Mrs. Sliwa to ensure that Churchill continues to provide academic experiences for our students that are rigorous, relevant and relational while making real-world connections. Thank you for the opportunity to serve your families in this role! Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas you would like to share.
I can be reached by email at email@example.com or by calling the school at (916) 971-7324.
