Speech and Debate Team

 

 

 

 

Churchill will form separate speech and debate teams. Some students will be on both squads or just one or the other. Each team will be made of roughly 30 students, last year there were over 100 applicants. Students will practice once per week (usually Wednesday) and then usually compete about once per month on either a Friday or Saturday. Churchill was the first San Juan Middle School to form a team!

 

Churchill routinely takes first or second at competitions and has established itself as a debate powerhouse for the region and state. Please stay tuned to BTV for more info about this year's season.

Note: Students are not permitted to be on both Debate Team and Science Olympiad due to the various practice and competition commitments. Think carefully about where to apply when that time comes.
