Welcome to Sherriff's Homepage

  • My teaching philosophy is summed up by an old quote that rings true for today:  "If we teach today's students as we taught yesterday's, then we rob them of tomorrow" by John Dewey in 1944.  To me this quote sums up the new Next Generation Science Standards and it means I need to continue to revise and consider how I teach everyday.

I look forward to sharing my love of science and teaching my students about how the world works through interactive, mind-engaging science activities some even with distance learning. Burning Hydrogen

Distance Learning:  All assignments, due dates and updates are posted in Google Classroom.  Once classes are finalized and uploaded into Google Classroom you will be sent an email press to accept as a guardian on the email then you will be updated from google classroom.  Please make sure an updated email is given to the front office for all teachers to maintain contact with parents.

Hybrid Model: (Includes Class Time):  In order to help encourage my students to be responsible, ask questions, and develop organization skills I have them write down the agenda.  I will also post on Google Classroom, but there may be a delay as I'd like them to first be responsible for writing down and asking any questions about current and upcoming work.   Mr Sherriff's picture

I look forward to working with your child this year and to provide them opportunities to get the most out of their science experience which is a mix of fun and work.

    Sincerely, Robert Sherriff
