      I. Graduation Ceremony FAQs
When and where will the ceremony be held?
      • Thursday, June 3 from 8 – 10 am
      • Bella Vista Large Quad
      • There are no “in and out” privileges once you enter the Quad.  Please bring all necessary items with you (coats, water bottles, etc.).
How many tickets does each student receive?
      • Each senior is given 8 tickets. Due to the size of the graduating class, we are unable to provide additional tickets. Children under age 2 may sit on a parent’s lap without a ticket.
      Where do I park?
      • The doors to the quad open at 7 AM. Parking is limited, so please arrive early. There will be designated handicapped parking.  You may also find parking on nearby streets, which makes it easier to exit after the ceremony. Carpooling is encouraged.
When should graduates arrive and what should they wear?
      • Students must be in the small gym in proper attire by 7:15 am: unadorned/unmodified cap, gown and tassel.  Please do not add any decorations.  Leis, balloons, etc., are not allowed until after the ceremony.  Please assist us in making this a dignified and memorable occasion by ensuring your student arrives on time and dressed appropriately:
BOYS:  Dress slacks, short or long sleeved shirt with a collar, dress shoes. Ties optional.
GIRLS: Dress, skirt and blouse, or dress pants.  Flats, heels or dressy sandals. No plunging necklines, bare midriffs, backless below the waist, or slits above mid-thigh.
FOR BOYS AND GIRLS:  no jeans, shorts, flip flops, tennis shoes or running shoes.
      Are there accommodations for wheelchairs?
      • There will be a designated area near the Attendance Office for guests in wheelchairs. The handicapped restroom is in the B wing – accessible via the ramp next to wheelchair seating.
Where are the best spots for pictures? Can I order professional pictures?
      • Good spots for pictures are under the evergreens as the students exit the stage down the ramp, or along the sidewalk that encircles the center set of chairs. Please avoid blocking the graduates’ pathway or the audience’s view of the stage.
      • Bill Smith Photography will be taking portraits of the 2020 graduates at the Ceremony. You can pre-order your Graduate's Portrait online by visiting or by calling the Bill Smith Customer Service Department at (916)749-1026.
Where do graduates pick up their diplomas?
      • Diplomas will be available in the small gym for 30 minutes following the ceremony, or in the registrar’s office beginning Monday, June 7.
II. Senior academics, behavior and attendance
Although students may be tempted to slack off their last semester, colleges do review final grades and will occasionally revoke admission. Additionally, students will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony if they have too many truancies or have engaged in inappropriate behavior.
III. Graduation announcements, cap and gown, grad nite
      • Cap and gown and announcements:  order on line at Caps/gowns will be given to students during senior checkout
