Synergy is when the total effect of the people in an environment seems to be greater than the sum of the effort of the individuals.  Synergy requires a commitment to a cooperative learning environment and hard work. The essence of synergy is to value differences- to respect them, to build on strengths, and to compensate for weaknesses.
