     CORONA VIRUS UPDATE

All current US History, APUSH, and Spanish 1 students, read below!!!

YOU MAY ALWAYS CONTACT ME WITH ANY QUESTIONS AT ANY TIME THROUGH EMAIL - JHASDOVIC@SANJUAN.EDU.  I WILL RESPOND TO YOUR EMAILS MOST LIKELY WITHIN JUST A COUPLE HOURS AT MOST, UNLESS YOU EMAIL ME IN THE LATE EVENING.

US HISTORY:  When we return from this quarentine, we will be picking up EXACTLY where we are leaving off from.  Next week was SUPPOSED to be our midterm week; THAT week will be transplanted to the week we come back to school (Monday, April 13th).  That week will look like this:

Monday, April 13:  Jeopardy review game to prepare for the midterm

Tuesday, April 14:  Review Unit #5 exam & competive review crosswords

    Wednesday, April 15:  Midterm Exam

Monday, April 20:  Review Midterm Exams

I will have the Midterm Overview Sheet available digitally for you to obtain in two different ways:  You can email me directly any time (jhasdovic@sanjuan.edu) with a request for it - I will respond to your email with the pdf Overview attached; or, you can check back on this website, beginning Saturday, March 14th, and download that form from the US HISTORY CLASS FILES link on this page.

In short, what you should do over the break is prepare for the midterm.

In the even that your performance on the midterm improves your 3rd quarter grade (i.e. from a C to a B) - I will then work with our Registrar to change your 3rd quarter grade.

SPANISH 1:  When we return from this quarentine, we will be picking up EXACTLY where we are leaving off from.  We are currently in the middle of Unit #2B... we just learned how to make nouns plural, and we got homework to practice that.  THAT homework will be due the day we return.  Additionally, I will be collecting our weekly flash card checks indicating that during this time, you kept up with learning/practicing your vocabulary and grammar prior to returning to class.

When we return, our week back will look like:

Monday, April 13:  Review plurals and estar, introduce Guantamera

Tuesday, April 14:  Assign dialogues for Unit #2B

Wednesday, April 15:  Work on dialogues, review for the unit exam

    Thursday, April 16:  Present dialogues

Friday, April 17:  Take the Unit #2B exam and collect classwork/homework packet

APUSH:  When we return from this quarentine, we will be picking up EXACTLY where we are leaving off from.  The three things I advised students to do in class were:

    1.  Study for the midterm (we take it the week we come back)

    2.  Keep on top of the reading as laid out in the syllabus' pacing guide (you can download the syllabus from this site:  Class Files --> APUSH)

    3.  Do the extra credit of practicing writing context and emailing me your work this week.

THIS JUST IN...  We have APUSH exam review practice books in the Textbook Library!  These have several FULL LENGTH practice AP tests with answers and commentary, as well as annotated "cliff notes" versions off all the units.  A great primer for the APUSH exam!  Swing by the Text Book library M-F, 8-12, and pick one up - or email Ms. Klough (mikelann.clough@sanjuan.edu) to have her set one aside for you!

THIS ALSO JUST IN...  Also, Tom Richey (watch his Youtube stuff!) has got a "Corona Virus" virtual AP classroom going for while we're out!  Check it out here: https://www.tomrichey.net/coronaclass.html#APUSH

THIS ALSO ALSO JUST IN...  If you're up for a little industrial revolution practice, I posted a practice DBQ on the topic in the section titled "Class Files" under APUSH.  If you wish, you may write to it and I'll provide you feedback.  Please submit via Google Docs for ease.  :)

    • Our schedule for when we return will look like the following:

Monday, April 13:  Review Jeopardy game for the midterm

Tuesday, April 14:  Review the Ch 23 test (in class) and then take the midterm's DBQ

Wednesday, April 15:  Take the LEQ & SAQ's

Thursday, April 16:  Take the Multiple Choice part of the midterm

Friday, April 17: Resume Unit #4 (no test today, obviously - so no 24/7's, either...)
