Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year!

Here is some general information about how my classes work:
Late Work: Students may turn in only one late assignment per semester, but they must notify me in advance and turn it in the following day. Otherwise, late work will not be accepted.
Absences: If a student is absent it is their responsibility to pick up any handouts they may have missed from the shelf labeled for their class. I will make only 1 copy of a handout for each member of the class.
Make up Tests: It is the student's responsibility to remember to make up quizzes and tests. All make-ups must be completed during lunch office hours. Currently, office hours are Wednesday at Lunch.
Essays: Students will be writing a number of multi-draft formal essays including literary analysis, expository, and research papers. Essays must be typed with proper MLA heading, 12 pt font, Times New Roman, standard margins, double spaced.
My favorite web reference for MLA format→ http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/747/01
All formal essays will be submitted through Turnitin.comGraded Work can be found on the shelf labeled per each class. Students are more than welcome to flip through the stack to find their own work at an appropriate time during class or during office hours. I do not pass back tests.
Cheating: If a student cheats they will earn a zero on the assignment and a referral. If they cheat twice, they will earn an F in English and a required parent conference as per the school’s policy. Cheating includes everything from copying a handout, sneaking test answers, to plagiarism.Citizenship: Everyone begins with an A, but may receive a lower grade for the following reasons: cheating, tardies, not paying attention, non-participation, apathy or disruptive behavior.
