Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Lampshire

I have been teaching elementary school in the San Juan School District for fifteen years. During that time, I have taught intermediate grades, third through sixth grade.

I enjoy teaching and learning. Learning is a life-long journey that I nurture in my classroom. Every student is encouraged to be an active participant in our classroom culture and establish their learning goals, interests, and growth mindset. Fostering a risk-free learning environment where all learners are validated in their thinking and creating is top of my list each day. Each year is a new adventure in teaching and learning!

When I am not working, I spend time with my family and/or friends, off on an adventure, volunteering, or painting. I am grateful to share my evenings playing board games, watching movies, and/or working on projects with them. Painting, drawing, and creating have always been a passion of mine. Other activities I enjoy are singing, reading, kayaking, hiking, paddle boarding, and splunking. I am always learning about these activities so I can improve my ability.

I have been a vegan for over nine years and enjoy cooking incredibly nourishing meals. My favorite colors are blue, purple and yellow. Blue because the sky and the ocean are blue and those are my favorite features as they seem endless. Purple because when I mix a bit of red and blue paint together, I can create deep purples or light purples, which makes me happy. Yellow because the sun and the moon and all light seem yellow to me. Where there is light, knowledge is built.

I am looking forward to another fabulous school year!
