Thank you to Intel employee Clark Shueh for getting our Intel PC Pals mentoring program up and running for the 2017-18 school year.  We are currently short of Intel volunteers and the program is at risk of being dropped.

This year mentors from Intel are matched with students in Mrs. Koontz's 6th grade class. Time spent reading and writing letters throughout the school year will benefit our students academically and will benefit our school financially. Students will improve their reading, writing, communication and computer skills as they communicate with their mentor weekly via e-mail.

This year, as in years past, students will visit Intel for a great tour with mentors and we'll host all volunteers for a pizza lunch with students.  Both events are enjoyed by students and volunteers.

Thanks to all the Intel volunteers!  LeGette also benefits financially through the Intel Volunteer Matching Grant Program. For every 20 hours an Intel employee volunteers, the Intel Foundation will match those hours with $200 donated to the school. For the 2016-2017 school year, LeGette School received $15,000 from Intel to use towards technology purchases for our school. Thank you, Intel!

If you are an Intel employee who is interested in volunteering with the PC Pals program for LeGette School, please contact the school secretary to get more information on how to sign up.
