Week of 9/26
Posted by EMILY FOSSELMAN on 9/26/2022This week in history we will continue learning about the events that led to the American Revolution.
Students are continuing to write a script for their British Taxes Skit that they will either show (video) or perform on Tuesday during class. A rubric for this assignment can be found on Google Classroom.
Homework for the entire week is to study vocabulary. This should be pages 18-20 in their notebook. There are 17 words and they will be taking a practice test on the definitions this Friday. Students will have a Road to the Revolution unit test next Wednesday, 10/05.
If you have any questions, please email me.

Week of 9/19
Posted by EMILY FOSSELMAN on 9/18/2022This week students will have the opportunity to retake the Colonial America test that they took last week. If students scored 19 and lower, they are able to retake it. Students who scored 17 and lower are highly encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity.
To retake the test, students will get a form tomorrow (Monday) and bring that completed on Wednesday during lunch when they will do the retake.
We will continue learning about the French & Indian War as well as British tax laws this week.
Vocabulary checks for all students will happen this week. On Tuesday, I will check the second page of vocabulary. On Wednesday, I will check the third page of vocabulary.

Week of 8/29
Posted by EMILY FOSSELMAN on 8/28/2022Good Afternoon Families!
After two weeks of learning about geography and historical skills, we will begin with a review of history this week. After our review, we will immediately dive into our first unit: Colonial America.
There will be no tests this week. The only assignment that will be homework is the Personal History Writing Sample on Google Classroom. We began this assignment in class and worked on it on Tuesday and Wednesday. There are only a few students left in each class who have not submitted.
Any other homework this week will be assignments that students may not have finished in class.
Have a great week Panther families!

Mrs. Fosselman
Welcome to the 2022/2023 school year! I am Mrs. Fosselman and teach 8th grade history. This is my 8th year at Arden Middle School. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband and my son. I also enjoy spending time with family/friends, hiking, doing yard work (yes, pulling weeds!), and reading. I love to travel and have been to 14 countries outside the United States and about 30 of the U.S. states. Hawaii is one of my favorite places to visit, but I also greatly enjoyed visiting Germany, Scandinavia, and Dominican Republic.
I look forward to getting to know all my students!
