Dear Students and Parents, 

On behalf of the Will Rogers staff, I would like to welcome everyone to the 2022-23 school year.  We are excited to be back for another wonderful year at Will Rogers.  I would like to invite you to our orientation according to the dates and times below.  Before orientation, please take a moment to fill out the following information in order to pick up student schedules: 

• Emergency Card - Please fill out online via the Parent Portal - Instructions are included in this packet. 

• Title 1 Parent Compact - Included in this packet
• School Funding Form - Please fill out online via the Parent Portal - Instructions included in this packet 
• All Required Immunizations are necessary for 7th grade entry.  Personal belief exemptions no longer apply. 

INCOMING SIXTH GRADERS – There are two separate orientations on Thursday, August 4, 2022, organized by the student’s last name: 

Students with the last name A-K are welcome to attend orientation anytime between 8:00am-9:30am. 

Students with the last name L-Z are welcome to attend orientation anytime between 9:30am-11:00am. 

***SIXTH GRADE WELCOME EVENT*** 

All 6th grade students are invited to attend a “student only” welcoming event on Tuesday, August 2nd from 9:00am-10:30am. Parents can drop off their student(s) and pick them up after the event. Students will get the chance to play games, meet classmates, and meet current student leaders. 

INCOMING AND RETURNING SEVENTH GRADERS - Seventh grade orientation will be on Thursday, August 4, 2022, organized by the student’s last name:

Students with the last name A-K are welcome to attend orientation anytime between 12:00pm - 1:00pm. 

Students with the last name L-Z are welcome to attend orientation anytime between 1:00pm - 2:00pm. 

You are welcome to attend anytime within that time frame.  Please remember that 7th graders must have Tdap and 2nd Varicella (chicken pox) for 7th grade entry along with all other previously required immunizations.  

INCOMING AND RETURNING EIGHTH GRADERS – Eighth grade orientation will be on Thursday, August 4, 2021, from 2:00pm - 3:00pm.  You are welcome to attend anytime within that time frame. 

The family handbook which includes the K-12 Pupil Disciplinary Guidelines, photo/video opt-out information and 2022-23 school calendar is available to view and download via the Parent Portal or by visiting www.sanjuan.edu/handbook   Please mark your calendars for Back to School Night on Thursday, August 25th 2022  and Open House on Thursday, May 11, 2023, both of which are minimum days with 11:21am dismissal time.
