     November

    - Parent Information Night is November 2nd, 6pm - 8pm. The evening will start in the Large Gym.

    - Incoming Freshman tours November 29th & 30th - Click HERE to Sign up for a tour

    The first tour starts at 9am. All tours start in the PAC. Please use one sign up per person attending to allow us to keep the groups an appropriate size.

    Tours will last 30-45 minutes. 

     

      

    December

    - Open Enrollment Lottery application will be available starting on: Monday, December 5, 2022 at 8am through January 20, 2023 at 5pm

    - Open enrollment is a process to request a school other than your neighborhood school or to return to your neighborhood school following a transfer. Once you receive your open enrollment results, you will be assigned to your school of choice which becomes your residence school or placed on the waiting list for that site.  ALL waiting lists expire on Dec. 31 each year.

     

    January

    - Open Enrollment Lottery Closes January 20, 2023 at 5pm

    -Inter-district transfer priority window January 30, 2023 through February 28, 2023 (For students who live outside of SJUSD)

    - Private school students contact counseling office at Rio Americano High School to give info for receiving articulation meeting information

     

    February

    -Open Enrollment results will be mailed to families the first week of February.

    • Parents will be notified by email of the Open Enrollment Lottery results.
    • The emails will be sent near the end of the first week of February 2023. 
    • Parents should receive the results from PowerSchool through the email you set up with your PowerSchool account.
    • Please be aware that the Open Enrollment Lottery is not determined on a first come, first served basis.
    • A computerized random lottery process will determine which students are accepted into their Open Enrollment choice school.

     

    March

    - Intra-district transfers accepted March 1- April 28, 2023 (For students who did not go through open enrollment)

    • An Intradistrict transfer is a request from a resident of San Juan Unified School District to change schools within San Juan Unified School District. 
    • An Intradistrict transfer is for those families who missed the Open Enrollment window.

     

    - Incoming 9th Grade Articulation is currently scheduled for March 13, 2023 

    Seesion 1: Student last name A-L 

    • 5:30-5:45 Welcome to Rio in the Large Gym
    • 5:45-6:30 Complete class selections for 2023/24 school year

    Session 2: Student last name M-Z

    • 7:00-7:15 Welcome to Rio in the Large Gym
    • 7:15-8:00 Complete class selections for the 2023/24 school year

    - April 28, 2023: Intra District Window Closes

    - After this day, no more transfers will be accepted, except hardship cases and newly enrolling families (at point of enrollment)
