Good afternoon Mesa Verde faculty and staff,
It was great to meet you at the Staff Meeting this past Tuesday afternoon. As the new Educational Talent Search (ETS) Program Advisor, I am looking forward to partnering with you to support student success.
Educational Talent Search (ETS) is a TRIO program funded by the U.S. Department of Education. The goal of the program is to have our ETS participants graduate high school, apply and attend a college/university of their choice and graduate from a post-secondary institution. At Mesa Verde High School, I will provide ETS students with monthly group workshops, academic advising, and financial aid assistance. In addition to organizing college tours, cultural events, and other educational enrichment opportunities for ETS participants. I’ve attached our ETS flyer that details the services provided for ETS students at Mesa Verde High School.
Over the past few months you may have met our ETS Director, Diana Garcia, and our other ETS Program Advisor, Felipe Gomez-Moreno. I will continue their recruitment efforts and begin group presentations for ETS participants this month.
We have the capacity for 250 Mesa Verde High School students to be enrolled in Educational Talent Search. At this time we have space for 136 students! If you have any students, you feel would be a great fit for the program, please let me know and I would be more than happy to meet with them. As I shared on Tuesday, I would also like to facilitate a 5-10 minute ETS presentation in your classroom. If this is an option, please let me know what times and days’ work best for you.
I am extremely excited to be working alongside the Mesa Verde High School community!
You can find me at the Welcome Center or contact me via email. Please let me know if you have any questions, and I hope to hear from you soon.
