Eleven new Eagles landed at El Camino for the 2018-19 school year. Many of them have interesting pasts before becoming dedicated EC staff.
From left, Neil Reilly teaches English 1 and 3. He used to write for The Sacramento Bee and announces football games for American River College. Brandy Martin teaches Resource English and Study Skills. She’s traveled to 16 countries. Lauren Orbach teaches biology. She was a Disneyland tour guide for two years, plays the oboe and speaks five languages. The man with the cool beard is painting/drawing instructor Jason Elder. He used to work as an HVAC supervisor. El Camino grad Sam Fegan (class of 2009) teaches Integrated Math 1 and Math Modeling. He was the pep band’s Screaming Eagle and performed in Beauty and the Beast.
In the center, the gentleman with the glasses is drama instructor and English teacher Christopher Travlos. He worked as an actor in New York for five years. Elizabeth Sansone teaches English and yearbook. At one time, she and her husband owned 12 yogurt shops throughout Sacramento. Sabrina Johnstone is an intermediate clerk typist. She’s worked for three years in the SJUSD. Third from the far right is English and ERWC teacher Cassi Barker. Her prior careers included bank teller and wedding caterer. Shari Gauthier has been a counselor for 10 years at six school sites. She used to hate working at a turkey processing plant. Finally, PE teacher and varsity football coach JP Dolliver came to EC after six years of fitness and personal training.
