The San Juan Central “Food Closet” is open!
The Food Closet serves families who are in need with one bag of food per month of non-perishable food items.
The Food Closet runs year-round and is located at 3700 Garfield Ave at Room 14 at the Enrollment Center in Carmichael. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. except for non-school days.

CalFresh applications assistance
CalFresh can add to your family's food budget to put healthy and nutritious food on the table. The program issues monthly electronic benefits that can be used to buy food in many markets, food stores, and some farmers' markets. It takes less than 5 minutes to see if you qualify and just 30 minutes for a confidential appointment to complete your application.

Orangevale Food Bank
The Orangevale-Fair Oaks Food Bank collects and distributes donated groceries to our neighbors who need a little extra help getting through the month. It is their goal to ensure that no one goes hungry in Orangevale, Fair Oaks, and surrounding areas.
River City Food Bank
River City Food Bank’s (RCFB) mission is to alleviate hunger in Sacramento County by providing healthy, emergency food and other assistance, offering referrals and promoting self-sufficiency through a variety of support services. RCFB serves all people experiencing food insecurity regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age and background in Sacramento County (no zip code restrictions).
