San Juan Unified has deployed a plan for distance learning as our schools remain closed under the advisement of public health officials to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in our community.
To help students stay connected to their classmates and teachers, we are encouraging each to have access to a computer with internet access. If you have a laptop or desktop in your home for each of your students that is capable of internet access via a modern web-browser you are welcome to use your own device (see full specifications here). We have also made Chromebook devices available that will allow students to log in to student email, Google Classroom and receive teacher instruction and assignments.
Our Technology Services team has signed out more than 21,000 Chromebooks to students that needed a device over the last month. Along with a device, an information packet about the device, available tech support, and how to sign-up for home Internet was also be shared.
Should you still need a device for your student, you can schedule an appointment to pick up a device by using the Technology Services online appointment scheduling system located at https://booknow.appointment-plus.com/y2kgnrjg/.
More information on how to apply for free home Internet can be found here.
