December 14th, 2022:
Good morning,
This is Principal Allison Kozel at Will Rogers Middle School. I wanted to send out a brief update about how things went yesterday and about our approach for today.
We had a tremendous amount of support and presence yesterday with multiple district counselors, additional Safe Schools Officers, and countless district staff on campus during the day. We went through the day without any threats being made to our school, but we did monitor continued social media posts. Investigators confirmed that this same organization made similar threats and caused similar responses to other schools around the country over the last couple of days. Support services for students and staff will continue to be offered as needed.
We will continue to be vigilant today and work with law enforcement to follow social media chatter and potential threats. Should anything be brought to our attention, we will immediately notify the community.
We appreciate your continued support. Please continue to send any concerns to safety@sanjuan.edu. And please know that our top priority will always be to ensure the safety of students and staff at Will Rogers Middle School.
Thank you for your continued support and patience.
Sincerely,
Allison Kozel

December 13th, 2022:
Good morning Will Rogers families,
I wanted to follow up this morning to share more information related to yesterday’s incident. At this time, law enforcement has found no credible threat on either Del Campo’s or Will Roger’s campus. We are aware of social media posts put out by an outside group claiming to know information about yesterday’s incident.
Law enforcement is also aware of these posts and is continuing to investigate the source of yesterday’s threat. If you have any information regarding this incident, please send information to safety@sanjuan.edu. We are asking our community not to engage with any of these social media posts, as this is still an active investigation and we do not want to provide any information to this group.
We have additional counseling support available today on campus for students should they want to talk with someone about the impact that this incident has had on them. You may continue to see the presence of our Safe Schools team and law enforcement today on the Del Campo campus as the investigation continues. Please be assured that all precautions are being taken to ensure student and staff safety.
Thank you for your continued support.
