     San Juan Adult Education summer classes will be held online until further notice to protect our student and staff during the COVID-19 pandemic.

    Although our classes may look a little different, we are still here to help!  Our teachers are excited to help you reach your educational goals!


    Are you are currently enrolled in classes?  Please contact your teacher for a summer school regstration form.


    Summer School RETURNING STUDENTS will receive a registration form from their current teacher beginning May 17, 2021. 


    Summer School registration for NEW STUDENTS is now open!

    Summer School online classes will be held June 21 through July 29th.

    How can I register for a class?

    1. Click on the Register for ESL (English as a Second Language) Classes link below. 
    2. You will be contacted by a staff member beginning May 17, 2021 to schedule you for an online orientation for class placement. Orientations will be held via Zoom. 
    3. After your orientation and class placement, your teacher will send you the Zoom log-in information to join the class you have been enrolled in.  
    4. Start class!

    ESL registration will start AUGUST 2nd.

    English as a Second Language

    San Juan Adult Ed offers a variety of free ESL classes designed to help students achieve their life, education, and career goals in the United States.

    Literacy, Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced ESL

    Literacy, beginning, intermediate, and advanced ESL classes are offered on a continuous open-enrollment basis. With a focus on English for work, home, school, and the community, these classes help develop and improve skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

    Reading and Critical Thinking

    Reading and Critical Thinking (low and high levels) classes  help students improve their reading and comprehension skills as they learn reading strategies, critically analyze text, and increase reading fluency and speed.

    Grammar and Writing

    Grammar and Writing (low and high levels) are independent-study classes in which studnets work at their own through videos and online exercises to learn the basics and advanced ins and out of English grammar and writing.

    Citizenship Preparation

    The Citizenship Preparation class prepares students for the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) oral interview as they study to improve their English reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.
