• Attendance is so important!!!

    All students are to attend school unless they are ill.  Teachers plan each day in order to review and introduce new ideas and concepts.  It is important your child attend school each day he/she is well in order to gain the most from his/her schooling.  Students should be free of vomiting or fever for a period of 72 hours without the aid of fever reducing medication before returning to school.

    Absences

    The only legally excused absences are illness or injury, medical appointments or funeral for immediate family. Doctor notes are required to excuse absences.

    If an absence is necessary, the parent must call the 24-hour absence recorder line at 979-8240 ext. 2 or email CowanAbsence@sanjuan.edu by 9:00 am with the following information:

     

    • Child’s name
    • Date of the call
    • Date(s) of absence
    • Reason for absence
    • Identity of caller and relationship to the student

     

    If a child is not at school and the parent has not called to report an absence, the school will alert the child’s parent that the child has not arrived.
