All enrollment in San Juan Unified is completed directly through the San Juan Central Enrollment Office, not the school site.
For all enrollment needs, including address changes, visit: San Juan Central Enrollment

Transitional Kindergarten Enrollment: www.sanjuan.edu/TK
Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is for students who are too old for preschool, but do not meet the age requirement for Kindergarten. TK in SJUSD is a lottery selection process. Online applications for the lottery must be completed between February and March each year with results mailed to families at the end of March (exact dates and details on website). Enrollment into TK programs is completed after the lottery process is complete.
Kindergarten Enrollment: www.sanjuan.edu/Kinder
Kindergarten enrollment begins in February each year. Your child must be 5 years old on or before September 1 of the current school year, per California EdCode to enroll in Kindergarten.
School Choice: www.sanjuan.edu/Page/48275
When students are enrolled in San Juan Unified K-12 schools, they are automatically assigned to the school of residence according to the address verified at enrollment. This process continues as students transition from TK to Kinder, elementary to middle school, and middle school to high school.
There are also "open" school sites available that do not have residence boundaries and can only be enrolled through the Open Enrollment process.
If you wish your child to attend a different school than automatic enrollment requires, you may:
- Submit a lottery application during Open Enrollment (December - January)
- Submit an intra-district transfer request (March - April)
