Dear Starr King families,

I am excited to announce that I have joined our administration team for the 2022-2023 school year.  I have been a P.E. teacher here at Starr King for the last six years of the eight that I've been working in education, and have been coaching within our district at Casa Roble and Bella Vista high schools for the last fourteen.  I was lucky enough to be brought back to my home campus as I take on this new role!  After transferring from Fortune School of Education seven years ago, I found an excellent fit here at Starr King.  I developed a unique style of physical education that catered to the diverse atmosphere of our campus, and this was just one of the myriad of amazing things that the staff on this campus does to be the absolute greatest it can be.  It is an honor to continue to be a part of the incredible things we're doing at Starr King, to be able to help facilitate such valuable opportunities for our students.

I have not lost the gusto that I had as a P.E. teacher!  I can't wait to be omnipresent around our campus and its community, giving everything that I can to ensure the well-being and prosperity of our students and their families.  This is going to be an unforgettable year!  Feel free to reach out to me at any time, I'm an open book.

Dear Starr King Families,

I am so excited to join the Starr King TK-8 community as Vice Principal for the 2022-2023 school year.  I began working with San Juan Unified School District nineteen years ago as a substitute teacher.  I then spent many years as a kindergarten teacher, third-grade teacher, and most recently an intervention teacher working with all grades at a different K-8 school in SJUSD.  Vice Principal is a position I have put much time and energy into being prepared for.  I look forward to being able to use the skills I have learned throughout my career in this leadership position at Starr King TK-8.  There are so many amazing things happening for our students here and I am honored to now be a part of it.  

Although I haven’t been at Starr King long, I can already tell it is a special place filled with caring staff, students, and the surrounding community.  I look forward to building relationships with each of our students and their families to further promote academic success.  Please don’t hesitate to say hello when you see me around campus so we can begin to get to know one another!
