San Juan Unified offers the Rapid Learner program to meet the needs of high-achieving students in grades 2-5. This program is offered at Del Paso Manor, Deterding, and Pershing elementary schools. The Rapid Learner online application will be available between November 1, 2017 and January 28, 2018.
More than 60 business and civic leaders from the community visited San Juan Unified schools for the annual Principal for a Day event on Nov. 7. Each visitor was invited on campus based on his or her specific interests.
The Mesa Verde Art Gallery is showcasing the artwork of San Juan Unified K-6 students for the Big Kids Art Show. The artwork featured includes pieces created by students using papier-mâché, charcoal, ceramic, watercolor paint and colored pencils.
California Senator Richard Pan recently visited Howe Avenue Elementary to talk to students about the dangers of drug abuse. Pan, a pediatrician by training, spoke about the harmful effects of illicit drug use on the human brain and addiction.
