A note from Superintendent Bassanelli: Supporting success through recognition and celebration
Good morning,
The last month of the school year brings a lot of excitement and validation to our students and families as we celebrate the accomplishments of students, staff and the community. These celebrations and recognitions aren’t just about reflection, they’re about laying the groundwork for even brighter partnerships and successes ahead.
This month we celebrated the Spirit of San Juan awards, which recognize students, staff and community members who exhibit exceptional character, remove barriers and provide an inclusive environment for all. I encourage you to watch this short video, where I recently chatted with Ethan “E Train”, one of six Spirit of San Juan Honorees, on the importance of celebrating our various achievements. If you haven’t had a chance to watch the videos highlighting our Spirit of San Juan honorees, I highly recommend checking them out. You’ll walk away feeling moved and inspired.
Let’s keep the spirit of recognition alive by letting those around you know their presence and impact are appreciated. If there’s someone in your school community who has been going above and beyond, consider writing them a note. By doing so, you will not only honor their contributions but also foster a culture of gratitude and collaboration that will endure beyond this school year. Thank you for all that you do for our students and schools.
In community,
Melissa Bassanelli
Superintendent
