A note from Superintendent Bassanelli: Welcome to the 2025-26 school year!

Greetings, San Juan Unified families!

Welcome to the 2025-26 school year! The first day of school is Thursday, Aug. 14, and we can’t wait to welcome students back to campuses across our district. Our staff has been hard at work preparing for a new year full of growth, opportunity and connection.

If you haven’t already, please take a moment to complete your annual student information update online. Just log in with your PIN and password at sanjuan.edu/parentportal and click the “information update” link at the top of the main screen. This important step helps update emergency contacts, ensures schools receive the funding they need to support your child and gives you access to this year’s family handbook.

As we enter the second year of our district’s strategic plan, we’re excited to continue turning shared goals into action—expanding access to the arts, supporting student wellness, creating inclusive learning environments and increasing real-world learning opportunities. These efforts are being shaped by your feedback and led by the voices of our students and staff.
